Nova Scotia Colony of Mayflower Descendants
To educate, inform and inspire people about Nova Scotia's Mayflower heritage.
NOVA SCOTIA COLONY OF MAYFLOWER DESCENDANTS
The Nova Scotia Colony is a member group of the Canadian Society of Mayflower Descendants, and membership is open to all who are interested in the Mayflower, its history and particularly the passengers who came on the boat in 1620 to New England. Many people will find that the story is inspiring, and may find that they are related to passengers on the Mayflower, and wish to prove their lineage and join the society as a “proven” member of one of these family lines. Nova Scotia, in general, and the Yarmouth area, in particular, has many strong ties to New England, and many, many people in the Province are descendants of the Pilgrims who arrived in what is now Massachusetts. This website has sections on the history of our Colony, News and Events relating to our Colony and a page for people to ask questions of our members and get feedback. Our Colony is also working on, and has on this website, an ongoing project to list documented, and also likely, lines to the Mayflower families that our members have volunteered. We are doing this to boost interest in the Mayflower families and their kin, but also to assist people who are just starting out to know what they should be looking for and what they need to document their lineage and join the Mayflower Society as a documented member.
We would welcome any and all comments, queries and feedback, please see the Contacts page above for a directory of people who may be able to help. We hope you enjoy the website and find the information useful, and if it inspires you to begin looking into your genealogy, then you’ve come to the right place.
